How you’ll achieve and grow
Through our Graduate and Clerkship Programs, you’ll work alongside senior practitioners and Accredited Specialists on:
Client matters
Participating in client meetings
Court attendances
Negotiation conferences
Meetings with experts and third parties
Drafting correspondence and memorandums.
You’ll get hands-on experience and gain real insight into what it’s like to work as a lawyer in a plaintiff law firm.

Clerkship program
Our four-week paid Clerkship program offers law students moving into their final year of study real insight into working as a lawyer in a large ASX-listed plaintiff law firm. We ensure you are exposed to meaningful learning opportunities and are well positioned for any future graduate programs offered by Shine.
The opportunity (38 hours/week, Monday to Friday) commences with a structured on-boarding process, where you’ll be introduced to senior practitioners and learn more about Shine. You’ll hear about the outstanding outcomes we have achieved for our clients in and out of the courtroom, and some of the landmark cases we’ve run.
Law students should apply for the program in their penultimate year of study, to commence at the beginning of their final year. We select Clerks who have strong academic results, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and lives that are balanced with diverse interests and experiences.
Graduate program
Our program offers Graduates the opportunity to launch their legal career in a supportive professional environment with some of Australia’s leading senior lawyers. You’ll be inspired and mentored by people who have an unwavering belief in our clients and will stand together with those who have been wronged, and you’ll be supported in developing the skills and capabilities you need to succeed.
The program is a one-year, full-time opportunity in one of our legal practice areas, leading to a permanent role. Our program builds strong legal foundations and long-lasting professional relationships; with the support you need to be the best you can be.
Law students should apply for the program in their final year of study, to commence post-graduation. We select Graduates who have strong academic results, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and a genuine interest in a career in our practice areas.
Our priority offer round is open to those who have previous engagement with Shine through our Clerkship program.
