Melanie is a Senior Solicitor with Shine Lawyers’ Motor vehicle accidents and Workers’ compensation practices in Melbourne.  

Melanie advocates for her clients, in helping them to navigate the legal system and overcome roadblocks from well-resourced defendants. 

Prior to joining Shine Lawyers, Melanie worked for the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office in litigation and dispute resolution. She gained considerable experience in government defendant work, including:  

• Civil and personal injury claims 

• Institutional abuse 

• Coronial matters 

• Settlement negotiation 

• Advocating for favourable orders in a mix of litigated and non-litigated claims 

Melanie’s broad legal experience also includes three years in the County Court of Victoria, where she was associate to multiple judicial officers.
