Abuse law
“It is a privilege to fight for the acknowledgement, justice and compensation my clients deserve for the turmoil they went through at the hands of others whom were meant to care and provide for them but did the opposite.”
Based in Dandenong, Alyssa is an Associate in our Abuse Law practice who is driven to test the boundaries of the law to secure the acknowledgement and restitution her clients deserve.
Alyssa specialises in representing abuse survivors in claims against:
The State of Victoria for wards or children under care and supervision orders;
Private organisations for private placements (such as foster care homes and residential care facilities); and
Private schools in Melbourne & the Department of Education.
She is also experienced with Reparation Payments Claims for Australian Defence Force Victims and National Redress Scheme Claims.
Alyssa will exhaust all avenues of investigation and continue to apply pressure to defendants to secure each of her clients the best outcome. She believes that building strong relationships with her clients is a vital part of this -
“I ran a case against a prominent Melbourne private school and ultimately obtained my client the compensation he deserved after two years of legal battles. Purely through my relationship with my client and speaking to one person, I was then referred onto another and another and ended up with close to 20 witnesses for the matter. This resulted in the case settling two days before trial as we were able to push the defendants for the evidence we needed to cement my client’s case.”
Outside of abuse law, Alyssa has experience with Workers Compensation Claims, and Superannuation & Disability Insurance Claims (including Total and Permanent Disability claims, Income Protection Claims, Terminal Illness and Death Benefits Claims).
