The Opportunity
As our full-time permanent Cyber Security Analyst at Shine, you’ll support our progressive and authentic firm as we champion what’s right. Reporting to our Cybersecurity Lead, and based out of our Brisbane head office, you’ll play a key role in protecting Shine’s digital assets.
You’ll be responsible for detecting and preventing cyber threats, enhancing our security infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. You’ll also monitor network activities, respond to incidents, and assist in developing strategies to safeguard Shine’s information systems.

You’ll be working in a full Microsoft shop, in a primarily Azure environment. We’ve had good investment in this space, so you’ll work across a broad range of modern tech. And we’re really passionate about cybersecurity, so you’ll work with people who are as enthusiastic about it as you are.
Here’s how you’ll help us stay ahead of the pack:
- Monitor networks and systems for potential security intrusions and breaches
- Manage organisational risk for anti-malware, email and web security, data loss prevention, SIEM, vulnerability management, and patch compliance
- Coordinate with security service providers (i.e. for penetration testing or red/blue/purple team testing) to ensure planning and execution of tests is effective and identifying key security risks
- Develop processes for collecting relevant cyber security metrics
- Assess incoming SOC alerts and conduct further investigations, as required
- Assist in raising cyber security awareness amongst Shine employees, by assisting in the development of cyber security communications campaigns, using various methods including webinars, awareness training, lunch and learn sessions, and other means
- Assist internal IT teams to remediate patch compliance issues
- Conduct incident response investigations in conjunction with 3rd parties
- Provide proactive advice to senior stakeholders as required on cyber security and physical security
- Identify and assist in tracking risks, devise treatment plans, and report progress
- Develop and maintain cyber security processes
- Remain informed of relevant legislative, regulatory, and industry requirements for data protection and cybersecurity
- Regularly perform security audits to assess risks, address vulnerabilities and devise remediation action plans
- Demonstrated experience delivering Cyber Security services to a complex, organisation, ideally ASX-listed or in a professional services environment
- SIEM Experience (i.e. Splunk)
- Experience using Tenable, or similar vulnerability detection tools, is desirable
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and best practices.
- Proficiency in security information and event management systems.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and system security technologies
- Tertiary qualifications in cyber security, computer science, information systems, information technology or a related field, or working towards cybersecurity qualifications, will be highly regarded
